I Can't Stand Linda Cohn

I turned on SportsCenter last night only to be disappointed: Linda Cohn was once again anchoring the show. I feel a bit bad about saying this, but I can't stand Linda Cohn.

It’s nothing specific, it’s many little things that have built up over time. From the stupid catch phrases to her getting oiled up by a mascot on an ESPN commercial, I’ve had about enough. Now, Linda tries hard to fit into the sports world, I’ve got to give her that. She appears to have new boobs, and she tries to emulate Stuart Scott, but I’m guessing she still doesn’t reach the ever-important urban demographic that SportsCenter often caters to. Maybe I’m wrong—maybe she does reach that demographic.

Linda has improved, but still leaves something to be desired. Maybe it’s the bad tooth to gum ratio. Maybe it’s the fact that she says things like, “for the love of elevation.” It could be the slang. The way she quotes Jay-Z or Nelly lyrics during SportsCenter. Does anyone really think Linda listens to Hova?

Plus, Cohn loves hockey. Hockey blows, Linda. It just sucks. Please stop bringing it up during basketball highlights. Please, ESPN, take this geyser of irritation off of my television. And if not, at least stop pairing her with Stuart Scott. Thank you.

I die a little bit inside whenever she says "3 RBI_" instead of the "3 RBIs". RBIs is the correct way (I am a social psychologist with a PhD which means I know how to write and speak...); not sure why in the hell she drops the "s" off the singular grammatical unit...she sounds like a pedantic moron that way. And no idiots (reading this and disagreeing with me), you're wrong..."runS batted in" doesn't matter, the abbreviation itself (RBI) is a singular unit, and is subject to all the same rules as regular individual words. If it's more than one, it gets an "s"...say this "s" Cohn, ya freaking moron.

Andru Jones hits a foul ball that's close to a home run but just foul. She says "Jones thinks he has a homerun" Correction, No He Did Not, the highlight shows him standing there to wait and see and steps out of batters box. Stupid Cohn! She irritates me and glad to know others feel the same way.

Iowa Ped-RBI stands for runs batted in. I'm a h.s. dropout but I think "3 rbi" is correct. You wouldn't say, "3 runs batted ins." You would say "3 runs batted in."

I remember Linda Cohn giving a radio sportscenter udate about 9 years ago. It's supposed to be about sports, but she used it as a platform to give her political views about the Cuban immigant boy, Elian Gonzales. Of course she advocated returning the helpless child to communist Cuba. Funny, right now there is a similar situation with an American man named David Goldman. He is trying to procure the return of his kidnapped son from Brazil. But I haven't heard a word from Linda on this one.

Yes, of course Linda Cohn sucks. An especially irrtating voice. Thinks she's funny. Not. Way too many female anchors on ESPN. Do they hire guys anymore? Because, at the rsk of sounding sexist, a guy is always better than a woman faking she knows sports and actually has something worthwhile to say.
